In this article, you will learn how to complete a task on the Onfleet driver app.
In most cases, a task should be completed from the driver app. This will ensure all task completion details including completion location are captured. A driver can select the "Tap to Complete" button at the bottom of the active task's view. In case a driver is unable to complete a task, the dispatcher can "Force Complete" a task from the dashboard or API.

Task Completion
Once you have started a task on the driver app, and have delivered the task to the recipient you can then complete the task. To complete a task, select the "Tap to Complete" button on the app screen to direct you to the task completion details screen.
On this screen, you will be able to add task completion requirements such as recipient signature, photos, and notes or select the task completion reasons your organization may have set.

When drivers encounter low or no bandwidth, drivers have two minutes to start or complete tasks before they need to return to bandwidth.
Failure to Complete Task
There may be a situation in which you are unable to complete a task. In those situations, select "Failure" and choose the most appropriate reason for failure from the list. Here are the default options:
- Driver/ vehicle incident
- Destination unreachable
- Recipient unavailable
- Refused- incorrect/ missing items
- Refused- damage
- Other
You may also put additional notes into the "Notes" open text field. Be sure to consult your organization for operational direction.
If your organization has enabled the custom failure reasons, the list you see may look different. You will be able to select one of the custom task completion failure reasons your organization has enabled.
